Technical Presentation: Anthony P. Castillo
We will be having Anthony P. Castillo present “Digital Forensics: Beyond the First Response Tips, Techniques & Testimony.”  The topics that will be covered include:
– Data collection, analysis and preservation tips
– Identification and verification techniques
– Avoiding the common pitfalls when called to testify

Technical Presentation: Sam Bowne
We will be having Sam Bowne present “Killing Windows Machines with IPv6 Router Advertisements” A single attacker can stop every Windows machine on your network with just a few IPv6 packets per second.  Windows 7, Server 2008, and Vista are all vulnerable to this attack by default, and there is no patch available.  I will explain the attack and demonstrate it, and describe my recommended mitigation techniques.

Presenters Bio’s:

Anthony P. Castillo, CCIE, CISA, CISSP, holds the position of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Scientist of USDN Network Security (, which he founded in 1987. He has over 25 years of experience in the computer security field and has been an expert witness for some of the largest privately held bankruptcies in the United States. Mr. Castillo has received numerous accolades from the Federal Bureau of Investigation including the “Certificate of Appreciation” for training and the “Exceptional Service in the Public Interest” award for his work in critical infrastructure protection.

Sam Bowne has been teaching computer networking and security classes at CCSF since 2000. He has given talks at DEFCON and Toorcon on Ethical Hacking, and taught classes and seminars at many other schools and teaching conferences.
He has a B.S. in Physics from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in Physics from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His Industry Certifications are: Certified Ethical Hacker, Microsoft: MCP, MCDST, MCTS: Vista; Network+, Security+, Certified Fiber Optic Technician, HE IPv6 Guru, CCENT.
