According to Gartner, x86 server utilization rates are between 7% and 15% in most organizations. Increasing this utilization has been a key driving
factor for server consolidation. While virtualization is a valuable tool for server consolidation, it is not suited for all application workloads.
Librato Load Manager enables consolidation of Windows or Linux servers by guaranteeing each application receives a specified amount of system
resources — such as CPU, memory, network I/O and storage I/O — for optimal performance and predictable service levels. This allows multiple
applications to run safely on fewer servers. Load Manager dramatically increases server utilization by dynamically reallocating spare capacity that
is not used by one application to other applications. Through its millisecond-precision monitoring and reporting of actual and desired resource usage, Load Manager also facilitates more effective and accurate capacity planning and chargeback. Load Manager is easy to deploy as it is
transparent to both the OS and the application.
